Если стандартный SR8 тянут 380 лошадок, то в новой версии их будет уже 455 (двигатель 2.8L Powertec RPB). Полная силовая установка весит всего 88 кг, и включает систему двигателя с сухим картером с четырьмя насосами, с двумя нагнетательными масляными насосами и встроенным роторно-лопастным водяным насосом.
Тем временем, другая разработка Radical – SR3 Supersport, также подверглась модернизации. У него появилось улучшенное шасси – его разработали специально под стандарты FIA для спортивных автомобилей. Наряду с этим была полностью изменена аэродинамика SR3 Supersport, модернизации подверглись параметры безопасности, появилась новая спецификация двигателя Powertec. Позаимствованный у Radical Le Mans Prototype SR9, новый высокий нос SR3 не только увеличивает прижимающее усилие и уменьшает лобовое сопротивление, но и улучшает охлаждение двигателя в странах с жарким климатом.
